The original coat of arms was given
to illustrator
Adam Goudelock in the form
above, and to the left, with the
description you will see next. The
idea we had was to modernize and
adapt the original family crest in
accordance with many of Master Scott
Schenker's teachings and beliefs.
In the original
crest imagine if you will it
being silver with a large black
triangle placed on it's base,
touching the upper border and the
sides of the shield. Charged with a
silver lion, crowned gold, supported
by a green mount and holding a
silver artwork garnished gold; The
triangle accompanied by the three
naturally colored pomegranates
lighted.
In the adapted
version the shield now sits
on a lotus flower which sends a
strong symbolic message for those of
you who do not know the idea of why
the lotus flower is used so
frequently in chinese art. It is because the
lotus starts at the bottom of the
pond in the mud and muck, it
struggles and grows upward
toward the waters surface in order
to drink the sunlight and receive
the nourishment necessary for it to
turn into one of the worlds most
beautiful flowers. Inside the crest
is a dragon and the pomegranates are
replaced with the chinese characters
representing the triad of the
universe: Heaven (sits on the
helmet), man on the upper portion of
the shield and earth at the bottom
of the shield. |
